The Executive Director, Clinical Informatics and Provider Experience and Chief Clinical Information Officer is a key member of the Digital Patient and Provider Experience leadership team at Fraser Health. This role is responsible for leading the development and implementation of clinical informatics and provider experience strategies that support the organization's vision, values, and purpose.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans, goals, and objectives for the Clinical Informatics and Provider Experience portfolio.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure that digital health strategies align with organizational objectives and support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Lead and manage the development and implementation of electronic clinical systems, including electronic medical records, electronic health records, and provider order management systems.
- Advocate for required data elements and nomenclature within clinical information systems (CISs) regionally, provincially, and nationally.
- Develop and manage budgets for the Clinical Informatics and Provider Experience portfolio, including identifying and costing new initiatives and savings strategies.
- Represent Fraser Health on committees, organizations, and in advisory activities related to clinical and medical informatics.
- Graduation from a school of nursing or allied health discipline.
- Master's Degree in Health or business administration, health information management, or related field.
- Ten to fifteen years of recent, related clinical leadership experience in the healthcare sector, including experience with electronic clinical systems.
- Current practicing registration with an applicable regulatory body, such as the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring, and Courageous.
- Professional/Technical Capabilities:
- Broad knowledge of current healthcare issues, trends, government directives, legislation, public policies, and issues related to technology in healthcare.
- Broad knowledge of clinical practice and the roles of multidisciplinary healthcare team members within a patient and family-centered care model.
- Ability to analyze complex clinical operations and structure processes to facilitate decision-making regarding clinical information needs.
- Understanding and ability to apply latest research on best-evidenced practices related to the use of digital health solutions.
- Knowledge of patient safety/quality management, performance management, and accreditation standards.
- Ability to lead and move forward complex organizational change related to clinical workflow and process redesign that supports the adoption of technology-enabled solutions.
- Ability to advocate for and champion best-evidenced practice in the use of technology in the clinical environment.
