Maintenance Manager Job Description

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance leadership and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the maintenance team to ensure timely and effective maintenance of all equipment and machinery.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and operational issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, including the procurement of parts and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Train and mentor maintenance staff to foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support production needs and company goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not necessary.
  • InterProvincial Red Seal certification or Journeyman Certificate in a relevant trade is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
