Durability Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Durability Engineer to join our team at RGBSI. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and durability of our products through rigorous testing and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute durability tests using MTS real-time hydraulically actuated simulators and data acquisition systems.
  • Coordinate test specimen build, data acquisition system setup, simulator performance tuning, and data processing.
  • Conduct daily durability test inspections and reporting, and communicate test results to Product Engineering.
  • Assist in conducting durability issue investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of RPC Pro and FlexTest software to operate the simulators and data acquisition systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including RTS mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance, and facilities teams.
Requirements
  • Experience with data acquisition equipment using various transducers, including accelerometers, load cells, and strain gages.
  • Understanding of damage severity analysis and stress-life/load-life calculations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and VBA.
  • Strong time management, leadership, planning, and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry.
  • Ability to support working days, afternoons, midnight shifts, and weekends on occasion.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience working with servo-hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and tuning.
Preferred Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aeronautical Engineering.
  • Hydraulically actuated testing experience using MTS RPC Pro/FlexTest software.
  • Experience with nCode and Somat eDAQ equipment.
  • Previous CANBUS experience.
  • Strain gauge theory and application.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university.
