Job Title: ICT Infrastructure Resident Site Engineer - Europe Locations

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced ICT Infrastructure Resident Site Engineer to join our team at Red Engineering Design Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating ICT infrastructure design interpretation for new construction projects, facilitating quality inspections, and ensuring contractor compliance with specifications and design drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate ICT infrastructure design interpretation for new construction projects
  • Facilitate quality inspections and ensure contractor compliance with specifications and design drawings
  • Manage key milestone dates and sectional handovers
  • Compile weekly reports and update the project QA/QC/Commissioning Management Portal
  • Assist with the review of O&M manuals and record drawings
  • Monitor pre-commissioning checks undertaken by contractors and/or sub-contractors
  • Monitor and report against the agreed pre-commissioning, commissioning, and testing programme
  • Witness any testing or commissioning undertaken by contractors and/or sub-contractors
  • Review the register of calibration of test and commissioning equipment used
  • Examine the results of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and the documentary records thereof
  • Review IST procedures and method statements proposed by contractors
  • Participate in IST meetings and workshops
  • Monitor and comment on record documentation
  • Ensure that all documentation is updated by contractors and/or sub-contractors as the works progress
  • Monitor and check the issue of spares and tools to the client
  • Monitor that the training of the client's staff in the maintenance and general usage of systems is given
  • Inspect the works on completion and record any defects
  • Liaise with contractors and/or sub-contractors to review that all defects are cleared before completion

Requirements:

  • Either an engineering degree in an appropriate ICT infrastructure design engineering discipline with at least a minimum 2 years' appropriate experience or an A-Level secondary education, HNC/HND or CNIDP plus at minimum 4 years appropriate experience
  • Appropriate experience includes data cabling manufacture/contracting, IT/IP network systems integration, network technology vendor/manufacturer, IT/multi-disciplinary consulting firm, or construction project management
  • Desirable: previous project experience in ICT infrastructure for data centre construction or commercial building construction ICT infrastructure
  • Technical qualifications and design experience in structured cabling systems, fibre optic networks, data cabling containment systems, LAN Ethernet switching, Wi-Fi network communications, telecommunication network infrastructure and services, or industry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, Bicsi
  • Ability to use AutoCAD and Bluebeam to a high competency level
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks models
  • Familiarity with BIM levels and processes
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel, Visio, etc.
  • Ability to prioritize own workload and work to deadlines
  • Act in an ethical manner and follow the principles of the Ethics Charter and Ethics in Practice Guidelines
  • Sound knowledge of key Health and Safety issues and legislation
  • Technical ownership of work packages and ability to problem solve
  • Good communication, presentation, and engagement skills
  • Sound commercial awareness
