Senior Staff Accountant - Audit Job Description

Our client, a reputable boutique CPA Public Accounting Firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Accountant - Audit to join their growing Milton office. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality audit services to clients across Canada.

Job Overview

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on various types of engagements, including audits, reviews, and compilations. You will also prepare year-end entries, corporate tax returns, and other CRA filings. Additionally, you will analyze and review personal tax returns and complete tax returns for customers located throughout Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute all aspects of audit engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts, identifying any discrepancies or errors.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear and concise explanations of audit findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate records and files, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Degree in accounting or business with an emphasis on accounting, CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm servicing owner-managed clients.
  • Experience in auditing, reviewing, and compiling financial statements.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results while meeting productivity requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify potential errors or omissions.
  • Familiarity with Caseware, Simply Accounting, and/or QuickBooks software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
