Accounts Payable Specialist

As an Accounts Payable Clerk at Groupe Polygon, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Your duties will include:
- Validating received invoices daily using our software to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Verifying and reconciling supplier statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Processing pre-authorized payments (PPAs) in a timely and efficient manner.
- Analyzing and resolving discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders to maintain financial accuracy.
- Handling credit card reports and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Entering and verifying invoice data in our computer system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Reconciling major and inter-company accounts to ensure financial integrity.
- Coordinating the resolution of supplier requests or issues with other departments to ensure timely resolution.
- Managing the accounts payable email inbox to ensure prompt response to supplier inquiries.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounts payable.
- A college diploma or certificate in accounting or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in spoken and written French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Table.
- Knowledge of sales tax application in Canadian provinces and experience in accounting for expenses, credit cards, and managing different taxes.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL is an asset.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a large volume of documents electronically.
- Excellent prioritization, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
