Groupe Polygon is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Invoice Validation: Validate received invoices daily using our software to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Supplier Statement Reconciliation: Verify and reconcile supplier statements and monitor disputed invoices to ensure timely resolution.
- Payment Processing: Process pre-authorized payments (PPAs) and ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Analyze and resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Credit Card Management: Handle credit card reports and ensure accurate and timely payment of credit card invoices.
- Invoice Data Entry: Enter and verify invoice data in the computer system to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile major and inter-company accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Supplier Coordination: Coordinate resolution of supplier requests or issues with other departments to ensure timely resolution.
- Email Inbox Management: Manage the accounts payable email inbox to ensure timely response to supplier inquiries.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in accounts payable.
- Education: College diploma or certificate in accounting or equivalent experience.
- Language: Proficiency in spoken and written French and English (essential).
- Software Skills: Intermediate knowledge of MS Office and Excel (VLOOKUP and Pivot Table).
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of sales tax application in Canadian provinces (essential).
- Accounting Skills: Experience in accounting for expenses, credit cards, and managing different taxes (essential).
- Software Knowledge: Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics SL (an asset).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work to deadlines and manage a large volume of documents electronically, excellent prioritization, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

- Work Schedule: Schedule based on a 37.5-hour workweek with 1 Friday afternoon off every 2 weeks.

- Benefits: 3 weeks of vacation starting May 1 following 1 year of service, 12 statutory holidays and paid leave, as well as 4 paid personal days per year.
