Your Role

As a Senior Principal Optical Systems Engineer at Marvell, you will be a key contributor to the development of state-of-the-art coherent optical modules. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our high-speed optical communications solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of major components, subsystems, or architectural features of our coherent optical modules.
  • Become an expert in Marvell's coherent DSP and optical components.
  • Model the performance of coherent optical modems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop specifications for subcomponents and modules.
  • Contribute to end-to-end system modeling and perform experiments to confirm and/or inform modeling results.
  • Set an example and mentor junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with 10-12 years of experience, or PhD in the same fields with 8-10 years of experience in coherent optical transmission.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in DSP and its application to coherent optical communications.
  • Proven track record delivering a major component or subsystem into a production coherent optical modem.
  • Solid understanding of optical and electrical impairments, both linear and nonlinear.
  • Ability to model coherent optical modem performance and impairments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive technical decisions and resolve complex challenges.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, C/C++, C#, or MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Self-starter, motivated to get things done, and willing to be hands-on and work in the lab.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to the United States.
