Job Title: Optical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Optical Technician to join our team at BMV Optical Technologies Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optical Technician will be responsible for operating ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments, setting up and dismantling equipment, and organizing and maintaining inventory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ophthalmic testing and measuring instruments to ensure accurate results
  • Set up and dismantle equipment to prepare for testing and maintenance
  • Organize and maintain inventory of lenses, frames, and other optical supplies
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs to lenses and frames as needed
  • Cut and edge lenses to precise specifications
  • Fit lenses into frames to ensure proper alignment and comfort
  • Arrange for grinding or polishing of lenses as required
Work Environment:

The Optical Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of physical activity, requiring manual dexterity and attention to detail.

Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an ophthalmic or optical laboratory setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies as needed
