We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support immigrants, refugees, and newcomers in Winnipeg by teaching basic and intermediate digital literacy skills.
About the Role:
- Teach digital literacy skills to help participants improve their computer proficiency and access essential online services, education, and employment opportunities.
- Instruct students on common software and online tools such as Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
- Provide guidance on online safety, privacy, and cybersecurity to protect personal information.
- Navigate online services such as banking, job applications, health services, and government resources.
- Help participants gain confidence in using digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, and computers.
- Support students in overcoming technical challenges and building confidence in their digital skills.
Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in using computers, the internet, and common software applications.
- Experience teaching or tutoring digital literacy is preferred but not required.
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding of the challenges faced by immigrants, refugees, and newcomers.
- Able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
