The Digital Content Marketing Specialist will be a highly motivated and creative individual who shares our mission for increased student safety and is a champion of our product. This role involves engaging with our target market on a daily basis to build a large online community, which ultimately leads to customers and advocates.

This position requires a strong command of the English language, as the successful candidate will be responsible for creating all written content used for marketing purposes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating a regular publishing schedule to promote our company's core message and generate leads.
  • Defining important social media KPIs and managing social media content.
  • Researching new social media trends and hashtags.
  • Creating, organizing, and executing all email marketing campaigns in Constant Contact to funnel qualified leads to sales team.
  • Composing articles for industry publications and social media.
  • Responsible for all written content for Smartrend Group of companies, with a focus on First Light Safety products.
  • Assisting with the development and ongoing maintenance of SMG and First Light's website, including content development and updates.
  • Ensuring that all brand communication elements are consistent, accurate, and reflective of current brand strategy and communication objectives.
  • Assisting in executing First Light's advertising strategy.
  • Other projects as assigned by Management.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
  • Strong experience in content writing, creating engaging written content with a focus on storytelling.
  • Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.).
  • High level of organizational skills, detail-oriented, and analytical.
  • Professional and clear communication skills.
  • An energetic, diligent work ethic.
  • A history of innovation, creativity, and delivering results.
  • Knowledge in photography and video editing is considered an asset.
  • Experience in crafting effective email campaigns with personalization and automation is considered an asset.
  • Understand the SEO best practices, keyword research, and how they apply to social media content.
  • Comfortable working with analytics tools and using data to plan the social media calendar.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Must be able to travel through Canada and the US.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $65,000 and $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
