Compensation Analyst Position in Construction Industry

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Payroll Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, preparing statements of earnings for employees, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Responsibilities- Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
- Prepare statements of earnings for employees, indicating gross and net salaries and deductions such as taxes, union dues, garnishments and insurance and pension plans
- Store, update and retrieve financial data
- Perform clerical duties, such as maintain filing systems
- Perform human resources related duties such as personnel selection
- Prepare and balance period-end reports and reconcile issued payrolls to bank statements
- Prepare monthly statements
- Complete and submit documentations for administration of benefits such as pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment and medical insurance
- Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans
- Compile statistics and reports
- Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Maintain payroll
- Maintain records of employee attendance, leave and overtime to calculate pay and benefit entitlements, using manual or computerized systems
- Prepare T4 statements and other statements
- Perform data entry
- Respond to employee questions and complaints
- Prepare staff relations information
- Prepare payroll
- Present own material or material prepared by others
- Communicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation and completion of work assignments
- Coordinate the flow of information within the team
The ideal candidate should have:
- Computer and technology knowledge, including Viewpoint, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Windows, and Accounting software
- Transportation/travel information, including owning their own transportation
- Work conditions and physical capabilities, including attention to detail, working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and managing a fast-paced environment
- Personal suitability, including being accurate, client-focused, having excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, being organized, reliable, a team player, efficient interpersonal skills, dependability, and the ability to multitask
