Job Description

As a Superintendent - Special Projects, you will collaborate and lead teams to execute and deliver quality projects on time and on budget. This role may require traveling to and supervising multiple sites across the City of Vancouver.

  • On-site supervision and coordination of trades for various projects across the City of Vancouver.
  • Collaborate with the management team, including the Project Manager and subcontractors, to maintain the construction schedule and identify/resolve problems as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community members.
  • Develop recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are at risk.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including safety records, progress reports, rental records, and logs.

You will provide leadership to peers, ensuring all site staff adhere to the company's safety culture. Organizing weekly subcontractor meetings, supervising, mentoring, coaching, and training project personnel are also key responsibilities.

Requirements
  • At least 5+ years of experience working on residential, institutional, or commercial projects up to $10 million.
  • Exterior or Building Envelope experience is considered an asset.
  • A technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Strong relationship and team-building skills with proven integrity when dealing with Clients, Trades, and Consultants.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction, including technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, drawings, specifications, procedures, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Procore.
