Job Title: Addiction Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Addiction Therapist to join our team at The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory. As an Addiction Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive addiction services to individuals and families affected by addiction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans and develop effective strategies for patient care.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling and patient outcomes, making adjustments as needed to ensure optimal results.
  • Interview clients, prepare case histories, and assess problems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Record observations and maintain accurate records to track patient progress.
  • Review reports from healthcare professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels.
  • Use standard psychological tests for assessment and interpretation of results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Provide education to clients on health promotion, injury prevention, management, and treatment.
  • Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social, and vocational development and adjustment.
  • Implement treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification
  • Mental health first aid Certificate
  • MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Windows, and MS Word proficiency
  • Criminal record check
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Judgement and values/ethics
  • Flexibility and interpersonal awareness
  • Organized and reliable
  • Team player
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
