Job SummaryWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Addictions Therapist to provide counseling services to individuals struggling with addiction.
Key Responsibilities- Consult with other healthcare professionals to evaluate treatment plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of counseling and patient outcomes.
- Interview clients, prepare case histories, and assess problems.
- Record observations.
- Review reports from healthcare professionals to determine patients' current and potential functioning levels.
- Use standard psychological tests for assessment.
- Write progress reports.
- Prepare a treatment plan for each patient.
- Provide education to clients regarding health promotion and injury prevention, management, and treatment.
- Provide therapy.
- Counsel individuals and groups to achieve more effective personal, social, and vocational development and adjustment.
- Implement treatment plans.
- Perform administrative tasks.
- Analyze patients during treatments.
- Develop and implement counseling and intervention programs to assist clients in determining goals and means of attaining them.
- Counsel clients, provide therapy, and mediation services, and facilitate group sessions.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Plan intervention programs.
- Initiate, design, and implement specialized therapy programs.
- Follow up results of counseling programs and clients' adjustment.
- Administer standard psychological tests for assessment.
- Interpret test results.
- Prepare assessment, progress, follow-up, and court reports.
- Liaise with community agencies or partners, and identify additional or alternative services and provide referrals.
- Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification.
