The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities and duties of those who deliver direct resident care, ensuring the highest standard of person-centered quality care.

About the Role

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, the RN will provide clinical direction and support to community care staff, while also promoting a culture of respect, dignity, and wellness among residents and colleagues alike.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of residents' needs, implementing and evaluating individualized care plans that prioritize their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
  • Clinical Supervision: Provide guidance and mentorship to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), supporting them in their clinical decision-making and care delivery.
  • Meds Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as per established standards, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Wound Management: Collaborate with LPNs to assess, treat, and document wound cases, referring to specialist services when necessary.
  • Daily Operations: Liaise with physicians, families, visitors, and volunteers to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Nursing Education: Graduate of an approved program for Nursing and holds a current license with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an RN.
  • Certifications: Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 certification and CPR.
  • Competency Testing: Successful annual Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) competency testing.
  • Teamwork: Proven experience working effectively in a collaborative environment, prioritizing teamwork and open communication.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand, and walk as required to perform the duties of the position.
What We Offer:

A competitive salary range of $93,000 - $118,000 annually, based on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
