Surgical Services Nurse Professional

The salary for this position is estimated to be between CAD $41.42 and CAD $59.52 per hour, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are ever the same. As a Registered Nurse in our Surgical Services team, you will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients recovering from anaesthetics within the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU). You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Assess post-anaesthetic patients by collecting and evaluating information from various sources using observation, communication, data review, and physical assessment skills.
- Makes a nursing diagnosis of the patient's condition and determines whether improvement or resolution can be achieved through appropriate nursing interventions.
- Plans, performs, evaluates, and documents nursing interventions and care.
You will also have the opportunity to participate in research and quality improvement activities, identify patient care issues, collect data, and contribute to changes in practice, procedures, or protocols.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in Nursing from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- One year of recent relevant clinical nursing experience in the designated clinical area and completion of postgraduate coursework and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area.
You will also need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team environment, and have the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
