Orthopaedic Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Orthopaedic Technician certified Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Vernon Jubilee Hospital in Vernon, BC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and plan, implement, and provide personal and nursing care to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Under the direction and supervision of a physician/nurse practitioner (NP), provide orthopaedic care by performing duties such as assessing and evaluating patient condition, reviewing x-rays to confirm plan of care, applying casts and splints, removing externally exposed pins, wires, staples, and sutures, setting up traction equipment, and performing related orthopaedic duties.
- Operate in accordance with the competency guidelines and full scope of practice within the Standards of Practice as outlined by the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM), and according to organizational policies, procedures, standards, and unit-specific protocols.
About this Opportunity
This is a permanent part-time (0.47 FTE) opportunity with shifts of work scheduled days and evenings, rotating from 09:00 to 17:00 and 14:00 to 22:00 hours.

Vernon Jubilee Hospital offers services including core physician specialties, 24-hour emergency and trauma services, acute and obstetrical care.
Qualifications
- Graduation from a BCCNM recognized practical nursing education program plus completion of formal post-basic education in Orthopaedics, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) required.
