FortisBC is seeking a dedicated and safety-minded individual to join our team as an Occupational Health and Safety Business Partner. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in enhancing our safety culture and promoting a healthy work environment.

About the Role

You will be responsible for coaching and mentoring our leadership teams and employees to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement safety programs and initiatives to enhance our safety culture
  • Coach and mentor leadership teams and employees on safety best practices
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with Joint Health and Safety Committees to develop and implement safety initiatives
  • Provide subject matter expertise on safety programs and initiatives
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require a bachelor's degree in environmental and occupational health and safety or a related field, plus four to seven years of recent experience in the field. A valid B.C. driver's license is also required. Formal qualifications in safety investigations and root cause analysis, as well as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, would be an asset.
