Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Human Resources team. As a key partner in the delivery of our Health and Safety initiatives, you will be responsible for conducting regular evaluations and revisions of our Occupational Health and Safety Program, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular evaluations and revisions of the Regional District's Occupational Health and Safety Program, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develop and implement Health and Safety initiatives to promote employee wellness and attendance support.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources team to ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and standards.
  • Provide training and education to employees on Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Travel within the Regional District to conduct site visits and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Health and Safety management, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
