Food Service Worker II

We are seeking a reliable and flexible Food Service Worker II to join our team at Slocan Community Hospital. As a Casual Food Service Worker II, you will be part of our Support Services team, providing essential services to our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Portion and serve meals and beverages in a dining room and/or cafeteria operation
- Set tables and trays with condiments, utensils, and napkins
- Collect and unload food service wagons
- Wash and peel vegetables and fruit
- Prepare items such as meat, fish, or poultry for procedures
- Count, weigh, and/or measure ingredients for assigned food preparation areas
- Prepare beverages and food items such as sandwich fillings, nourishments, and therapeutic diet items
- Wash dishes and utensils
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping and washing floors, cleaning counter tops and tables
- Clerical duties such as answering the telephone, running diet sheets off the computer, and writing information on menu cards
- Receive supplies and check goods received against invoices
- Take and record temperature of hot foods at point of service
