We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Network Technician to join our team at eTor Networks. This role involves installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, as well as testing and repairing faulty cables and telephone equipment.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position that requires 35 hours of work per week. The successful candidate will have experience in working with coaxial lines, fibre optics, single lines, and copper. They will also be able to determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble and complete test and service reports.
Responsibilities- Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
- Test equipment to locate transmission faults
- Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers
- Determine the nature, cause, and location of trouble
- Determine work assignments
- Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
- Splice, join, and connect wires
- Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment where they will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel on a regular basis. They will also be required to work in various weather conditions and may be exposed to hazardous materials.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, you must have:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1-2 years of experience in telecommunications
- Familiarity with coaxial lines, fibre optics, single lines, and copper
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
eTor Networks offers a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
