Reporting to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager, this leader is responsible for coordinating nursing administration and hospital bed utilization activities, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient census. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations with patients, visitors, and healthcare professionals.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to fill this critical role. The successful candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing Program, be registered or eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing, and possess a minimum of three years of medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting. A minimum of two years of nursing management experience is also required, along with BCLS certification and ACLS as an asset. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with the ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate nursing administration and hospital bed utilization activities
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet patient census
- Supervise nursing staff and coordinate hospital and bed utilization activities
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to address challenges and improve patient care services
- Exhibit sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Health Services Program and the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Direction of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
Successful candidates may be eligible for our comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $40.15 - $53.34, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
