Patient Flow Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced nursing professional to lead our Patient Flow Operations team. Reporting to the Utilization/Patient Flow Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the coordination of safe and efficient patient care services within our facility.
The successful candidate will supervise nursing staff and coordinate all hospital and bed utilization activities, ensuring that staffing levels meet patient census needs. This individual will also work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, management, staff, physicians, community partners, and service providers to address challenges and promote high-quality, safe, and cost-effective services.
Responsibilities- Serve as a key liaison between nursing administration and other departments to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize patient flow and reduce length of stay.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to patient flow, staffing, and bed utilization.
- Collaborate with the Health Services Program and Nova Scotia Health Authority's Mission, Vision, and Strategic Direction to ensure alignment and achievement of goals.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing Program.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- A minimum of three years' medical/surgical experience or equivalent in an acute care setting.
- A minimum of two years' nursing management experience.
- BCLS certification.
- ACLS certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated leadership, planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to promote and maintain good interpersonal relations with patients, visitors, and other health professionals.
- Ability and knowledge to match utilization needs to resources available.
- Ability to perform duties that involve lifting, bending, and stretching.
- Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred.
This permanent full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $40.15 - $53.34 hourly. Successful candidates may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
