Geophysics Student Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geophysics Student to join our team at Canadian Natural Resources Limited. As a Geophysics Student, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects related to seismic imaging methods, oil and gas reservoirs, and energy resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist area Geophysicists with ongoing exploration and development projects by tying multiple seismic datasets for time, amplitude, and phase consistency on geophysical workstations.
  • QC well logs and tie them to seismic data.
  • Pick pertinent target horizons on 2D and/or 3D seismic data.
  • Generate geophysical maps, including time structure, amplitude, isochron, and relevant seismic attribute displays.
  • Support the Area Geophysicists in their role to find new reserves within their core areas.
  • Generate synthetic seismograms and create seismic models.
  • Work with various software applications for mapping and data analysis.
Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Geophysics.
  • Required to be physically and mentally fit for work.
  • Motivated self-starter who can thrive as an independent worker and in team settings.
  • A sense of ownership and responsibility for project outcomes, and the ability to work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
