{"Key Responsibilities": "Geology Student Opportunity

- Contribute to the production geology and hydrogeology group involved with day-to-day operations of the active mine. Spend time in the field investigating changing excavation faces, validating geological model, and reviewing mine plan in action.
- Get hands-on experience with core-drilling program by working with drilling department to gather information required to characterize deposit, plan, and execute.
- Learn detailed stratigraphy of McMurray Formation by describing and sampling core from winter drilling program. Skills acquired will include geophysical log interpretation, depositional environments, and sampling techniques used to support mining operation.
- Advance technical development while contributing to team goals by learning about mine planning, reserves reconciliation, mining operations, geotechnical, and hydrogeological considerations.

Requirements

- Currently enrolled in Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Geology.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
- Required to be physically and mentally fit for work
- Motivated self-starter who can thrive as an independent worker and in team settings.
- Strong leadership skills including ability to motivate and inspire others, to share ownership and responsibility for project outcomes, and to work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams.
- Passionate about rocks and enjoy the outdoors
