Department Store Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Department Store Supervisor to join our team at Lethbridge Dairy Mart Ltd.
Job Summary:The Department Store Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training staff, and managing cash. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and coordinate activities of staff
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
- Authorize payments by cheque
- Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions
- Authorize return of merchandise
- Establish work schedules
- Sell merchandise
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Organize and maintain inventory
- Manage cash
- Conduct performance reviews
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
The Department Store Supervisor will work in a retail business environment with a team of 3-4 people, including retail salespersons and sales clerks. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and have manual dexterity.
