Job Title: Department Store Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Store Supervisor to join our team at Lethbridge Dairy Mart Ltd.

Job Summary:

The Department Store Supervisor will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, hiring and training staff, and authorizing payments by cheque. The successful candidate will also be responsible for exhibiting designers, planning and developing permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise staff and assign sales workers to duties
  • Hire and train or arrange for training of staff
  • Authorize payments by cheque
  • Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays
  • Authorize return of merchandise
  • Establish work schedules
  • Sell merchandise
  • Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
  • Organize and maintain inventory
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
  • Manage cash
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of experience in a retail environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
