About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Addictions Counsellor to join our team at the Charles J Andrew Healing Centre. As an Addictions Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals struggling with addiction and substance abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions to clients, focusing on goal-setting, coping strategies, and relapse prevention
  • Collaborate with clients' healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support
  • Develop and implement educational programs and workshops on addiction and recovery
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress and treatment plans
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience in the field of addiction and substance abuse counselling is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong knowledge of addiction and recovery principles, as well as relevant laws and regulations
