Medical Device Reprocessing Technician 2

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician 2 to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will be responsible for reprocessing complex surgical instruments and equipment to ensure they are safe and ready for use in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reprocess complex surgical instruments and equipment, including disassembling, washing, and sterilizing
- Read and interpret instrument slates to anticipate surgical requirements
- Utilize a generated pick list to complete instrumentation and consumables required for case carts
- Maintain an understanding of sterilization techniques and operate sterilization systems
- Handle and transport sterile supplies, and apply principles of infection control
- Interact with operating room personnel to ensure supply issues are met
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician I
- Previous case cart picking experience preferred
- Complete Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required
- Successful completion of a recognized Sterile Processing Technician program required
Working Conditions:
- Work involves frequent exposure to infectious body and blood borne organisms
- Position involves meticulous attention to detail
- Must be able to lift and position articles in excess of 30 pounds
