Job Title: Food Service Manager

Reporting to the Director, Hospitality, the Food Service Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional patient, visitor, and community experiences through the preparation and distribution of meals and nourishments within the main campus, offsite locations, catering, Meals on Wheels, and Meals to Go programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of highly motivated and experienced professionals in achieving operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize nutritional care and patient safety.
  • Manage departmental training needs, including weekly huddles, in-services, and safety talks.
  • Oversee financial management, including budget preparation, monitoring, and review.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with Public Health, Registered Dietitians, Speech Language Pathologists, patients, and unit managers to resolve concerns and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of food service management experience in a unionized, acute care hospital.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and direct teams.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

Please note that as a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7. Depending on the program, it may be an expectation that you are available to work weekdays and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
