About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Techso. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems for our clients in the agri-food, beverage, biotech, and pharmaceutical industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in client needs and project definition, ensuring that all requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Review client specifications and develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for mechanical systems.
  • Develop and maintain detailed understanding of local codes and standards applicable to industry and projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all design and development activities are aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior technical personnel, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply this knowledge to improve design and development processes.
Requirements
  • Current registration with PEO as P.Eng.
  • 8-10 years of experience in building HVAC, Plumbing & Drainage, Refrigeration, Steam, and hot water systems, as well as fire protection system design.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit is a must.
  • Experience in consulting engineering in the pharmaceutical and/or food and beverage industries is an asset.
  • Experienced in leading and managing design projects, proposals, on-site commissioning, and/or power system studies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and design criteria.
  • Proficiency in a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques.
  • Flexibility to travel to client sites.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with Revit MEP software.
  • Be a team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Ready to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of local, Provincial and National regulations and standards.
