Based in Fort St John, this full-time position requires company-paid travel within northeastern BC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize culturally sensitive support for indigenous families involved or at-risk of involvement with child welfare systems
  • Foster emotionally and spiritually healthy children, families, and communities through tailored programs and one-on-one guidance
  • Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders, primarily MCFD
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments for clients, employing a trauma-informed approach
  • Develop personalized wellness and family plans centered on client goals
  • Collaborate effectively with diverse professionals and identified client support networks
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions
  • Leverage local resources to address systemic barriers and promote family well-being
  • Organize community workshops focused on health and wellness initiatives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Profound understanding of Treaty 8 First Nations, Indigenous, and Metis cultures and histories
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including active listening and conflict resolution
  • Able to contribute to collaborative decision-making and cultivate a positive team environment
  • Strong comprehension of the Child, Family & Community Services Act, alternative dispute resolution processes, court procedures, and associated policies
  • Awareness of the impacts of colonization and generational trauma affecting Indigenous communities
  • Awareness of addiction, abuse, family violence, neglect, grief, mental health, healing, and recovery dynamics
  • Familiarity with harm reduction practices
  • Demonstrated skills in report writing and documentation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Salary: $55,000 per year.
