Family Care Coordinator

Nenan Dane zaa Deh Zona Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Family Care Coordinator.
Based in Fort St John, this full-time position requires company-paid travel within northeastern BC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize culturally sensitive support for indigenous families involved or at-risk of involvement with child welfare systems
- Foster emotionally and spiritually healthy children, families, and communities through tailored programs and one-on-one guidance
- Cultivate partnerships with key stakeholders, primarily MCFD
- Conduct thorough needs assessments for clients, employing a trauma-informed approach
- Develop personalized wellness and family plans centered on client goals
- Collaborate effectively with diverse professionals and identified client support networks
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions
- Leverage local resources to address systemic barriers and promote family well-being
- Organize community workshops focused on health and wellness initiatives
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Profound understanding of Treaty 8 First Nations, Indigenous, and Metis cultures and histories
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including active listening and conflict resolution
- Able to contribute to collaborative decision-making and cultivate a positive team environment
- Strong comprehension of the Child, Family & Community Services Act, alternative dispute resolution processes, court procedures, and associated policies
- Awareness of the impacts of colonization and generational trauma affecting Indigenous communities
- Awareness of addiction, abuse, family violence, neglect, grief, mental health, healing, and recovery dynamics
- Familiarity with harm reduction practices
- Demonstrated skills in report writing and documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Salary: $55,000 per year.
