Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Superintendent to join our team at Whelan Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating subcontractor activities, planning and organizing daily operations, and preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage subcontractor activities to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Plan and organize daily operations to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Prepare and submit construction project budget estimates to stakeholders
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers as needed
  • Plan and prepare construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress to ensure projects are completed on time
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schemas, and drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Plan and manage budgets to ensure financial stability and growth
  • Direct the purchase of building materials and land acquisitions as needed
  • Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform decision-making
  • Prepare reports to stakeholders on project progress and performance
  • Resolve conflict situations in a fair and professional manner
  • Train staff and/or volunteers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years or more of experience in construction project management
  • Valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • AutoCAD and MS Office skills
  • MS Project experience
  • Industrial, commercial, and institutional construction experience
