Life Enrichment Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Life Enrichment Assistant to join our team at Verve Senior Living. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating activities that cater to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging programs that promote resident participation and well-being.
- Communicate activities and programs to residents, staff, families, and the community to encourage participation.
- Lead and promote resident awareness and participation in leisure, social, and recreation programs.
- Assist in the maintenance of department records, including attendance, assessments, and evaluations of planned programs.
- Collaborate with the Life Enrichment Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs and services.
- Participate in the annual CanFitPro Exercise program to provide exercise classes tailored to seniors.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues, residents, and guests, and adhere to established department plans, policies, and procedures.
- Minimum of grade 12 education required.
- Prior experience in recreation programming for a senior population is preferred.
- Diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Recreation, Physical Education, and/or Gerontology is considered an asset.
- Class 5 operator's license, clean driving record, and 2 years of passenger driving experience.
- Certified in Emergency First Aid and CPR.
- Valid alcohol serving certification and CanFitPro certification preferred.
- Proven computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptability to handle database programs.
- Dementia experience/knowledge is considered an asset.
