Key Responsibilities- Provide routine instruction to patients on activities of daily living, including toileting, transfers, dressing/undressing, and bathing.
- Carry out established recreation participation programs, such as crafts and bingo, and maintain a clean and safe patient environment.
- Prepare and apply treatment modalities, such as ice, heat, and whirlpool, and supervise established exercise programs.
- Provide direction to volunteers during recreation, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy programs.
- Assist with or conduct group activities established by physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or recreation therapy.
- Report patient performance and response in programs to the appropriate therapist.
- Prepare equipment for use by therapists and maintain inventory of equipment, devices, and materials.
- Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Ability to organize work and manage time effectively.
