Job Title: Optometrist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometrist Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optometrist Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support to our optometrists, ensuring the smooth operation of our optical retail store. This is a permanent position, working 30-35 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists.
  • Develop information materials for patients, including educational brochures and visual aids.
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients, ensuring accurate record-keeping and communication with healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain prescription records, test results, and medications given by ophthalmologists.

  • Maintain supplies, including inventory management and ordering.
  • Perform general clerical duties, such as scheduling appointments and processing paperwork.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and efficient ordering.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
Work Environment:

The Optometrist Assistant will work in a fast-paced optical retail store environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
