Job Title: Optometrist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometrist Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optometrist Assistant will provide administrative support to our optometrists, ensuring the smooth operation of our optical retail store. This role involves a variety of tasks, including administering eye drops and medications, developing patient information materials, and maintaining prescription records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Maintain prescription records
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Maintain supplies
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Equivalent experience
Work Environment:

The Optometrist Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The role requires attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to work under pressure.
