Job Title: Optometrist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Optometrist Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optometrist Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support to our optometrists, ensuring the smooth operation of our optical retail store. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about eye care and wants to develop their skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Maintain prescription records
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Maintain supplies
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
