Job Title: Optometrist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometrist Assistant to join our team at Havenview Optics Inc.

Job Summary:

The Optometrist Assistant will provide administrative support to our optometrists, ensuring the smooth operation of our optical retail store. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by ophthalmologists
  • Develop information materials for patients
  • Follow through on treatment programs with patients
  • Maintain prescription records
  • Record test results and medications given by ophthalmologists
  • Maintain supplies
  • Perform general clerical duties
  • Process files and paperwork
  • Schedule and confirm appointments
  • Take patients' general medical and ophthalmic history
  • Manage routine office functions, including reception, telephone, and booking appointments
  • Organize and maintain inventory
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Equivalent experience
  • MS Office, MS Outlook, and MS Word skills
Work Environment:

The Optometrist Assistant will work in a fast-paced optical retail store environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
