The Niagara SPCA and Humane Society is seeking an experienced Animal Welfare Leader to further the organization's mission and vision.

As a leader in animal welfare within the Niagara Region, we strive to deliver innovative programs and compassionate services that enhance the lives of pets in need and their owners.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Animal Welfare Leader to lead our team and propel the organization's strategic direction. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in philanthropy, building community relationships, and leading large fundraising campaigns with demonstrated results in acquiring major gifts. They will be responsible for spearheading the planning and execution of a capital campaign, attracting and managing relationships with major donors, and engaging senior volunteers as required.

The Animal Welfare Leader will also serve as the primary spokesperson for the organization, proactively engaging stakeholders in conversation, managing the organization's reputation within the community, and building positive and sustainable relationships with business leaders, government officials, animal welfare organizations, and other community partners.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role in the charitable or not-for-profit sector;
  • A proven track record in philanthropy, building community relationships, and leading large fundraising campaigns;
  • Experience in understanding financial reporting requirements, risk management, and not-for-profit compliance requirements;
  • Emotional intelligence and ability to ensure those around them feel heard, valued, and respected;
  • A strong advocate for the wellbeing of all animals and their impact on humans.
Benefits
