Job Title: Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team at Adecco Canada. Responsibilities:
  • Design and Analysis: Develop and review structural designs for various projects, ensuring compliance with OBC Part 4 requirements, including the design of structural systems, components, and connections for buildings and other structures.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure that all designs meet or exceed the relevant provisions of the Ontario Building Code (Part 4), including loading requirements, material specifications, and safety regulations.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineers to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of structural designs.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize advanced structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) to create detailed models and simulations that accurately reflect the structural behavior of buildings under various loads.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive design reports, calculations, and construction drawings that clearly communicate the structural design intent to clients and construction teams.
  • Client Interaction: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet both their expectations and regulatory requirements. Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and professional conduct.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct site visits and inspections to verify that construction work aligns with the approved structural designs and OBC requirements. Address any discrepancies and provide solutions to ensure project integrity.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Masters an asset).
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven structural design experience within a consulting firm.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation is required.
  • Strong understanding of OBC, structural engineering principles, and design standards.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in design work.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
