The Central Québec School Board is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Worker, Class II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our educational institutions and buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Execute all preventive and physical maintenance of educational institutions or buildings, with a focus on areas under 9275 m2.
- Organize and execute maintenance work, coordinate and supervise when done with or by other employees.
- Ensure the cleanliness and good condition of buildings and equipment, including lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
- Perform minor or temporary repairs, point out failures, and ensure that repairs are made.
- Keep track of work performed by skilled or unskilled workers, and repair doors, windows, and furniture as needed.
- Take necessary means to ensure adequate security against theft or fire, and monitor comings and goings of visitors, students, and staff as required.
- Prepare facilities and rooms as needed, and order or purchase materials, products, and equipment required for maintenance work.
- Make suggestions and recommendations on products, materials, equipment, and working methods.
- Coordinate, supervise, and monitor the work of other nonspecialized employees as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, with experience in facilities management and a keen eye for detail. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
