Job Summary

The Maintenance Worker, Class II, is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and good condition of the building and its equipment. This includes organizing and performing maintenance work, inspecting and checking lighting, heating, and ventilation systems, and ensuring the functioning of various equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and repairing buildings and equipment
  • Inspect and check lighting, heating, and ventilation systems to ensure proper functioning
  • Ensure the good condition of the building and its equipment, including doors, windows, and furniture
  • Repair and replace equipment as needed
  • Monitor the comings and goings of visitors, students, and staff, and take necessary measures to ensure security
  • Prepare facilities and rooms as needed
  • Order and purchase materials, products, and equipment required for maintenance work
  • Take inventory and ensure compliance with standards of use, storage, and safe disposal of products
  • Make suggestions and recommendations on products, materials, equipment, and working methods

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Worker, Class II, works in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and priorities. The employee must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to lift heavy objects and work at heights.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in maintenance work. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, and must be able to work in a team environment.
