Job Summary

The Central Québec School Board is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures.
  • Inspect and check lighting, heating, and ventilation systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Conduct minor or temporary repairs, and report any failures or needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Keep track of work performed by skilled or unskilled workers, and ensure compliance with standards of use, storage, and safe disposal of products.
  • Coordinate and supervise the work of other nonspecialized employees, as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions

The Maintenance Worker will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to physical demands, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. The employee must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions, and be available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
