Job Summary

The Central Québec School Board is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker, Class II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our educational institutions and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute all preventive and physical maintenance of educational institutions or buildings
  • Organize and execute maintenance work, coordinate and supervise when done with or by other employees
  • Ensure the cleanliness and good condition of buildings and equipment
  • Inspect and check lighting, heating, and ventilation systems
  • Perform minor or temporary repairs and ensure that failures are reported and repaired
  • Keep track of work performed by skilled or unskilled workers
  • Repair doors, windows, and furniture and assemble and install equipment
  • Ensure adequate security against theft or fire and monitor comings and goings of visitors, students, and staff
  • Prepare facilities and rooms as needed
  • Order or purchase materials, products, and equipment required for maintenance work
  • Make suggestions and recommendations on products, materials, equipment, and working methods

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. They will also have a strong attention to detail and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of tasks and responsibilities. They will be required to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a variety of weather conditions.
