Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide inpatient and community consultation services on Salt Spring Island. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with patients, healthcare professionals, and community stakeholders to deliver high-quality psychiatric care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultation services for patients admitted to Lady Minto Hospital on Salt Spring Island.
  • Offer outpatient treatment at Salt Spring Island Community Services, including consultation for Severe and Chronically Mentally Ill, Urgent Short Term Assessment and Treatment, and Drug and Alcohol programs.
  • Provide general Psychiatry services to adults in the community, working collaboratively with an inter-disciplinary team.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong background in Psychiatry, with experience working in a small community setting. You will be comfortable practicing in a setting with limited psychiatric infrastructure and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What We Offer

Island Health offers a competitive compensation package, including the potential for additional remuneration under the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA). You will also have the opportunity to work in a flexible schedule, with up to full-time work available. We are looking to hire either part-time or full-time Psychiatrists with available work for 2.0 FTE.
