We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at NOVA SCOTIA LIMITED.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position with 35 hours per week, working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to inform purchasing decisions
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms
- Oversee the distribution of merchandise to outlets, ensuring timely delivery and quality control
- Review business requirements to determine the quantity and type of merchandise needed
- Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as cost, quality, and availability
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, supply chain management, or procurement
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in procurement or a related field
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- A competitive salary: CAD $55,000 - $65,000 per year
