About the Role

Brandt Developments Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Structural Technologist to join our team in Regina, SK. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the analysis, design, and detailing of structural systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Conduct analysis, calculations, and design of structural systems for new buildings and renovations, ensuring compliance with sound engineering practices and standards.
  • Contract Administration: Prepare contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction, collaborating with clients, authorities, and contractors as required.
  • Building Design: Perform design and produce drawings for structural design elements, including beams, trusses, piles, foundations, and other structural components, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Liaise with clients, authorities, and contractors to ensure project success and coordinate with sub-consultants as required.
  • Investigate preliminary structural layout options during the planning and schematic design process to meet client requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates, tender contract documents, and engineering reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Perform contract administration duties, including attending meetings, site inspections, and submittal reviews, ensuring project progress and quality.
  • Coordinate and follow up on project issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Review, evaluate, and improve upon engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications, ensuring alignment with company standards and industry best practices.
  • Support the building design team as required, collaborating with other internal departments to ensure project success.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, codes, and regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to company standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in a consulting office, with expertise in design development, detailed design, design coordination, and contract administration services.
  • Certificate in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Structural Engineering Technology.
  • Proficiency with Tekla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD software, with AutoDesk Revit considered an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong work ethic.
