The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for leading by example and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising all manufacturing activities, including scheduling jobs and supervising production workers
  • Ensuring a safe and productive work environment, adhering to all health and safety standards
  • Working closely with the EHS team to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Implementing and driving 5S methodology in each work cell
  • Communicating effectively with team members and providing coaching and guidance as needed
  • Monitoring team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with standards and procedures
  • Providing leadership and guidance to the team, holding team members accountable for their performance
  • Ensuring completed products meet quality standards before moving to the next area
  • Managing the production schedule and coordinating the processing of orders
  • Ensuring operational quality and cost objectives are met while meeting on-time delivery schedules
  • Implementing lean manufacturing techniques and assisting in efficient work cell creation and adherence
  • Inventory and material management support, working directly with purchasing and receiving to ensure materials are advanced planned for jobs
  • Ensuring all workers have proper safety gear and clothing before performing work
  • Interviewing and assisting with selecting new hires
  • Filling in on a job when an employee is absent
  • On-shop-floor supervising 80% of the time
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and 5S methodology
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills
  • Demonstrated results meeting performance metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively set goals, lead, and motivate others
  • Organized with a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft suite
